Lots of places here in Grand Rapids will not do screen printing on small runs of just a few shirts. You can’t blame them really. It’s hard to justify spending hours on a job, getting art ready, printing film, making screens, and printing the job so that you only make a couple bucks, literally.

Big Vision Customs is one of the very few places in Grand Rapids that does custom low runs of screen printed t shirts or vinyl t shirts. Basically, all you need to email us using the Easy Quote page and tell us what you need. We can whip up some simple text artwork for you for free. More complicated artwork needs may require a fee.

Unfortunately, low runs of screen printed t shirts will cost more than if it were decorated with vinyl. We can do vinyl, and we recommend it in most low runs with low colors.

Notice how the designs are all somewhat different. These unique t shirts and hoodies can be accomplished with both screen printing or with vinyl. But which would you like to pay for? That’s the real question 🙂

The most we’ve had to charge for a custom t shirt was $100 and we were surprised the customer went for it. It required 4 different screens and 5 print locations. It wasn’t worth it for us to do it. And honestly it wasn’t worth it for him to buy 1 shirt for $100… but people are crazy, as we all know!

If we would have had the technology we do now, we could have cut that price down by 60% or more. The time and material cost is much lower. The quality of the decoration is still top notch and will outlast the shirt/garment itself, just like screen printing will.
